Story Telling Pendek Roro Jonggrang
Once upon a time, there was a prince named Raden Bandung
Bondowoso, son of the king Pengging named Prabu Damar Moyo. Raden Bandung
Bondowoso is a famous strong and powerful prince.
Besides Pengging palace, there was another royal palace
called Boko. The king was Prabu Boko and his minister was Patih Gupalo, they
both were man-eating giants. But Prabu Boko possessed a daughter who was very
beautiful, Roro Jonggrang.
One day Prabu Boko was eager to expand the empire by
invading the kingdom Pengging. Prabu Boko gathered his troops to attack the
Kingdom Pengging. Heavy fighting ensued, bloodshed was inevitable. Many of
victims were on both sides. To reduce his victims, King Damar Moyo ordered his
son Raden Bandung Bondowoso to duel with Prabu Boko. Because of the power and
magic of Raden Bandung Bondowoso, Prabu Boko was killed.
Hearing Prabu Boko was killed, Patih Gupala ordered his
troops to run away to the palace. Raden Bandung Bondowoso didnot ran after
them, with his remaining troops to Boko palace. Patih Gupala who arrived prior
to the palace, met Roro Jonggrong and told her that Prabu Boko was killed at
the hands of Raden Bandung Bondowoso. Ater Raden Bandung Bondowoso arrived, he
looked for Patih Gupala in the palace. But he met Roro Jonggrang. Because of
her beauty, Raden Bandung Bondowoso instantly fell in love with. And he asked
her to marry him. But Jonggrang rejected it, because she knew that Raden
Bondowoso killed his father.
To reject Raden Bandung Bondowoso’S proposal marriage, Roro
Jonggrang gave a requirement if Raden Bandung Bondowoso wanted to marry her.
Jonggrang said:
“If you want to marry me, you have to build a well and a
thousand temples in one night.”
The request sounded impossible. But Raden Bandung Bondowoso
was confident with his strength and magic and immediately proceed accordingly.
He was starting to create a well-known with the name Jalatunda. And make 1000
temples with the help mobilize the genie to make.
Worrying that Raden Bondowoso would finish building.
Jonggrang asked maids to pound rice and burn straw in the east as a sign that
the morning had come. The genie who help Raden Bandung Bondowoso to finish 1000
temples fled for fear of the morning. Raden Bandung Bondowoso was failed to
build 1000 temples. he could only finish 999 temples.
Raden Bandung Bondowosogot angry knowing that the dawn
was’t arriving. He was very upset to find that Jonggrang who committed the
fraud behind his failure. Then Raden Bandung Bondowoso changed Jonggrang become
a famous statue of the Goddess Durga statue to complete the 1000 temples.

story telling "Cindelaras"
Once upon time on jenggala kingdom there was a king whose name Raden Putra. he had a beautiful queen and concubine, the concubine was jealous with the queen so she planned to make the queen leave the palace. The concubine asked the royal healer to help her . One day, the concubine pretended to be ill. Raden Putra called the royal healer to treat her. “What is her disease?” Raden Putra asked. “I’m sorry, My Majesty. She is sick because the queen put poison in her meal,” the royal healer lied.
Raden Putra was angry. He asked the queen about the story, she denied but Raden Putra won’t listen. “Please Your Majesty, have mercy. I didn’t do anything,” cried the queen He didn’t know that the queen was pregnant. Raden Putra called one of his general to do the punishment, but he didn’t have the heart to kill her. He built a simple house in the woods for her
Several months later, she gave birth to a baby boy. Whose named Cindelaras. He grew up as a nice boy. One day, while Cindelaras helped her mother to collect fire woods, he found an egg. Cindelaras brought it to go home. The egg hatched into a chick and then became a rooster wich could sing , “My master is Cindelaras. And his house is in the woods. He’s the son of Raden Putra.”
Cindelaras always woke up early in the morning and listen to his song. He though “Who is Raden Putra?” The queen then told him the whole story. Cindelaras decided to go to the palace to meet and to tell the king what really happened.
On his way, he met some people who were involved in cockfighting. They challenge him to see how strong his rooster was. Cindelaras accepted it . He roosters won again and again.
The news spread quickly to Jenggala kingdom and made Raden Putra curious. So, he invited Cindelaras to the palace. “What is your name, boy?” Raden Putra asked. “My name is Cindelaras, My Majesty,” Cindelaras answered. He was happy to see Raden Putra.
Raden Putra challenged Cindelaras with one condition. If Raden Putra’s rooster won, Cindelaras’ head would be cut off. Then if Cindelaras’ rooster won, Raden Putra would share half of his wealth. Cindelaras accepted it. The competition was held in the front yard of the palace. In a few minutes, Cindelaras’ rooster won . Raden Putra woke up from his seat, “That rooster is no ordinary rooster, and he’s no ordinary boy too. Who is he?” .Suddenly Cindelaras’ rooster sang the song, “My master is Cindelaras.and His house is in the woods. He’s the son of Raden Putra.”
Raden Putra was surprised. “Is it true?” he asked. “Yes, My Majesty. My name is Cindelaras and my mother was the queen,” said Cindelaras. He immediately went to the woods to pick up the queen. The concubine and the royal healer got a punishment because they are lied. Ever since, Cindelaras and his parents lived happily together.

STORY OF BAWANG PUTIH AND BAWANG MERAH
Once upon a time, in East Java, lived a beautiful girl named Bawang Putih. Her
father has passed away, and she lived with her stepmother and stepsister.
Before her father passed away, her stepmother and stepsister were very kind to
her. On the contrary, two days after her father passed away, they treated their
badly. She had to do all the house work. Her stepmother said:
“Bawang Putih, from this moment, you
have to clean the house, guard the house, wash the clothes, and cook delicious
meals.”
“But mother…”
“No but! You must obey my rule! What
do you think? I love you?? Oh… No… No… No… I hate you! Why must I kind to my
stepdaughter, ha!?”
“How poor you are” said her
stepsister with a sly smile.
Her
stepsister was Bawang Merah. She was very lazy, and she always got dress every
time. But, Bawang Putih was more beautiful than her.
One
day, Bawang Putih went to river to wash a lot of clothes. Then, she looked a
goldfish cried and needed help. Its mouth was involved by an angler. Seeing the
condition Bawang Putih felt sorry and helped it.
“Thank
you for your kindness, would you like to be my friend” asked the goldfish.
Bawang
Putih was very surprised, the goldfish could speak! And Bawang Putih answered
nervously: “O… Of course”. Then, the fish helped her in washing and they become
a best friend.
Unfortunately,
their friendship couldn’t last because her stepsister knew it. And her mom
asked Bawang Merah to catch it. Then, Bawang Merah caught the fish and gave it
to her mom. After that, they cooked it, and ate it! When Bawang Putih knew the
fish was her friend, she took the bones and said:
“Oh my friend, forgive me… I can’t
take care of you… I don’t know they will eat you. I’m sorry if I can’t reply
your kindness to me… Good bye friend, good bye…”
Bawang
Putih buried her friend sadly. Several days later, grew a beautiful tree, with
beautiful flowers on the burial. Surprisingly, a Prince came to see it and need
it to be his father’s because only the tree could help his father to be well
again. The prince said:
“Who
is the owner of the tree?”
“Oh,
it’s mine…” answered Bawang Merah.
“Could
you pull and gave it to me?”
“Of
course…”
Bawang
Merah tried to pull it but she couldn’t. Everybody also tried, but they also
couldn’t. Then, the Prince looked at Bawang Putih and felt in love with her and
asked her to pull the tree. Miraculous! The tree could pulled by her and she
gave it to the prince. The prince said:
“Oh
beautiful girl. Thank you for the tree. I love you. Would you become my wife?”
Bawang
Putih only smiled and nodded. The Prince married her, and Bawang Putih has
forgiven her stepmother and stepsister. And they lived happily ever after.

STORY OF MALINKUNDANG
Long time ago, in a small village near
the beach in West Sumatera, lived a woman and her son, Malin Kundang. Malin
including a smart kid but a bit naughty. After growing up, He thought to make a
living in the country side in hopes of later on when returning home, he was
already a wealthy man, so he said to his mother, “Mother, I want to be a rich
man, so I want to go to the country side. Please release me.” His mother was
originally less agrees with Malin Kundang, but she finally agreed though with a
heavy heart. His mother said, "My son, if you have succeeded , don't you
forget about your mother and this village, son,"
In country side, he worked diligently. With
tenacity and perseverance in work, Malin gradually managed to become a wealthy
man. It has a lot of merchant ships with men of more than 100 people. And then,
Malin Kundang marry a girl to be his wife.
After a long time, Malin and his wife
went to his village. His mother recognize him and then hugged malin and said,
"Malin Kundang, my son, why did you go so long without sending any
news?". But do you know what happens then? Malin Kundang immediately
release her mother's arms and pushed it down. "Hey woman! How dare you
claim to be my mother. Don’t you see? I’m a rich man, and you? You’re just an
old, poor, and dirty woman!" said Malin Kundang to his mother. Malin
Kundang pretended not to recognize his mother, embarrassed by her mother was
old and wearing tattered clothes. "Is she your mother?",asked his
wife. "No, she was just a beggar who pretended as my mother to get my
property," said Malin to his wife.
She is very sad. She is not expected
Him to be a rebellious child. And then, she said while crying, "Oh God, if
he is my son, I curse he became a rock". Suddenly, a thunderstorm came.
Not long after that, Malin's body slowly becomes stiff and eventually finally
shaped into a rock.
And the lesson in this story is, as
children, we must respect to our parents. Because every word that our parents
say is a prayer for us.
